Twenty years after beginning operations, the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ) has established itself as a major competitiveness tool for the region, thanks to the vocations that today distinguish it as an organization closely linked to the aerospace industry, air cargo and passenger transport, as well as academia and applied research.
Throughout this journey, the airport has managed to connect destinations and goods to and from Querétaro with the main cargo and passenger connectivity hubs in the United States and across the country. We also recognize that there is still much to develop in terms of infrastructure and organizational development to offer an even stronger multimodal connectivity value.
Moreover, the economic dynamism of the region demands from AIQ a much faster evolution focused on high-quality services and connectivity, with great flexibility to the rest of the world. Transforming Querétaro International Airport into a gateway to the central part of the country, through the Mexican Bajío region, must be the great long-term vision.
With these ideas in mind and high expectations for the coming years, the AIQ team has embarked on the integration of the AIQ 2050 Strategic Development Plan, a vision and introspection effort aiming to outline the strategy through a collaborative model, closely linked with all stakeholders, that will drive the evolution of our organization in the decades to come.
